If you have been around the internet for any amount of time, I am sure you have heard the term blogging. Many people do not know what blogging is and why it is something that could be good for your business.
The term blog is short for Web Log. That is what it was called so many years ago. I like to compare it to WORD on steroids. It has features and functions to write your thoughts and message then publish it on the internet.
As I discussed in our choosing a blogging platform post prior, there are many different options to choose to get your blog set up.
If you are a business, there are many reasons that you should think about adding a blog to your marketing efforts.
Lets look at a few.
Why is Blogging Good For My Business
First of all, a blog is an easy-to-use platform that you can add to an existing site or use as your website for business. It will allow you to converse with your customers and potential customers by adding content that interests and engages your customers.
The bonus of having additional content on your website is that it makes it attractive to Google, especially when it is updated frequently. The search engines see that is you are involved and engaged in your business, and as it is continually being updated. Search engines love fresh, quality content, and that will allow your site to move from page 100+ on the search engine up closer to the front, the more you add content and value to your site.
Having a blog is not difficult or time-consuming. It can be handled on weekends or in your spare time and then scheduled to post at a set time. It is perfect for a busy professional and great for vacations and off time.
A blog also allows you to share tips and information on your social media channels so that your followers can see what is happening in your business at any given time. This leads to more interaction on your site and social media links.
I think any business that is in business on the internet needs to have a blog. That means anyone from a home-based small business to a brick-and-mortar storefront. Even if your business is solely on the web, you need to add a blog. It has many value-added reasons that I listed that will improve your business on many different levels if it is handled professionally and consistently.
