One of the things that I work with in my coaching and consulting business is to teach clients how to do some of the required pieces in online marketing today. Things like how to use social media. How to set up a smart and easy to follow marketing plan for online use. How to use analytics to get the best information from your tools and flip that into your marketing. How to use SEO in business.
One thing I realized is that Google has made it priority to work with small business owners on their marketing and knowledge efforts. I have to commend them for that. The bad thing is that there are a ton of resources available so it can be overwhelming to many and much easier to work one-on-one with someone like me for guidance.
Google Services for Small Business
There are a few websites of note that you can check out for resources.
The first one is the Digital Garage. As of this posting there are 156 courses that you can check out in this area. Even a 40 Hour certification program that goes through loads of material for marketing online.
The bad part is that many of the content providers are located in Europe so live classes are not in USA timeslots. Which may not be a problem for you, per se.
The second site is Class Central which offers free certificates for Google products. This site has done the hard work for you by scoping out all of the Google classes so you don’t have to! Truly a time saver with their thoughts on some of the courses too.
A third site is Grow with Google. This site offers training for you, your business, and even job skills to help you promote or find a job in a new industry.
I do use these resources. I have gotten by Google My Business (old name) certification and I am currently working on the Google Analytics certification. I definitely need to allocate more time to finish that one! It gets complicated if I try and go too fast!
I am all about keeping up with as many moving parts and changes in the online world so I can better assist my clients. I hope these resources help you learn something new about small business marketing for your business.
If I can help you in anyway, please reach out with questions and make sure to sign up for my emails for up to the minute small business articles.
