With the changes in how we are working right now, many people realize how much they crave community and the working relationship we have in an office setting.

But moving everything completely online doesn’t have to mean that we can’t build relationships. Relationships are very important for our business sense and community because it allows us to get to know other business owners, get to know who to refer people to for specialties, and just have great conversations.

Building those relationships means building our own tribe.

Our tribe is the people that know our business ethics, know our morals and responsibilities to clients. They know that if they refer someone to us that client is going to be taken care of in the same manner as we would take care of them.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot and I do have a group that I rely on, knowing that when I want to refer someone with a specialty need I know exactly who I am going to utilize.

Working with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has allowed me to meet some amazing consultants. Yes, we work mainly in the local market but we all have separate consulting businesses as well.

Who is My Tribe?

So when a client of mine needs help with a business plan and direction, tips for their retail or start-up business, Rhonda Lowe is my go-to business advisor.

For budgets, credit, and help with setting up your QuickBooks, and even for money management assistance, Mary Castillo is a fabulous resource. Plus, she speaks Spanish!

For corporate locations and setting up tax paperwork, IRS issues, and complex issues such as that, I have two people I refer my clients to – Robb Garrett and Dianna Bard  (also a mobile notary – A++ one too).

These are just a few of my tribe. I have a large resource that I pull from because I not only work online with business owners, I also do local networking as well and am a member of a business referral support group called MBX Network.

They are important to me!

My tribe is important in building a solid online business. We talk about different ideas, what works and doesn’t work in our business. We bounce ideas off of each other. We work on joint ventures that give people information right now. We refer people to each other.

If you don’t have a tribe yet, it’s time to start finding your support network and growing your business online or offline.
