  • Look for video keywords – most of them use the words “how to” in the title. Plus, do the search on the video to have not just the “all”. Include searches on YouTube and get ideas from similar videos.
  • Use your focus keyword in the video title – As close to the front as possible. Also make sure you’re solving a problem. Such as “how to…”
  • Make sure to use tags on your videos –  Helps with search functions and being found
  • Invite subscribing notifications – The more people that watch your videos the more they move up in the search results. Also, comments are huge for SEO as they are engaging with your content
  • Invite those comments – Engagement adds to higher search results and rankings
  • Use Close Caption as the search engines can read these on your video – Take the time to edit them or ensure that they are accurate as they automatically pull in on YouTube.
  • Use the thumbnail to make a attractive image – Visuals speak loudly
  • Edit the file name to match the title – Same as with an image,  search engines read those file names.
• Embed into your website pages and posts – Also onto LinkedIn, Facebook. These are huge sharing options that increases the numbers.
  • Do a notification of a new video on your email list – Encourage subscribing and turning on notifications for more engagement.
  • Definitely include a complete description and make sure you’re using your keywords in the description – Be specific on the topic covered.
  • Use the keyword suggestions auto generation drop downs on Google and YouTube – Also the Suggest Option at bottom of search results
  • Utilize the analytics so you can see how people are interacting – Check average view duration and watch time. Also regularly view the engagement reports.
  • Check similar videos and see the length of the video on the highest ranking ones – You don’t want your video too long but you don’t want to short as well. It depends on your content

Using these tips will not only help you have a full description on your videos, but they will help add more searchable text and information for your videos in a massive search engine. Also cross promote and converse with your followers and those watching!
